Sounds good! Did your training see the same fate as your Mason & Hanger job (you quit)? I haven't seen a new post in a while.

Thanks man. I was just thinking today about how much of this summer will be spent on training. I started to think it will be a waste of the summer then I just realized that training will allow me to be outside more. Hopefully I'll find a new way to enjoy the great outdoors.

Good to see the blog back up! Keep working hard. I like the lightened training, I think you will be less likely to get injured and, equally import, less likely to get burned out.

Hey Zach - that is great that you are taking it easy on the treadmill workouts. I do some work in movement analysis and it is pretty alarming some of the dysfunctions that get developed from this equipment...

I wrote a post on my blog called 'never run on a treadmill again' which definitely supports where you are coming from. Check it out if you feel the inclination. I think you will find it adds significant value to your decision not to run on the treadmill except when necessary.

Cheers

Wow...What a RACE. You ran.You push yourself to the limit, there were times when you wanted to stop, to see you give it your all. As always you hide things well. Watching you run across the finish line gave me such a sense of wellbeing for you. I knew that whatever you set out to do, you will be able to handle it. You set your goal and You did it! You didn't quit. I am so proud of you for what you have accomplished in everything that you do. Just thinking about it gives me chills. A Marathon... 26.2 miles...You ran 26.2 miles. YOU RAN 26.2 MILES. WOW. when we met you at the finish line, we made you walk another mile back to the hotel. I guess that makes 27.2 miles.I heard more complaints out of the rest of the family for the walking we did to get to specific mile markers, to see you and cheer you on than from you. As far as coming to Louisville to watch you run, I wouldn't have missed it for the world. I love you. Ma

There's no way that ANYONE would ever consider you a failure, or think that you let us down, just because you had to walk some. You completed a marathon! How many others can say that? Running 26.2 for the first time involves going into the unknown. It pushes you physically & mentally and you just don't know what to expect once you get past your longest training run. From this experience, you now know how to best approach your next marathon. Thanks for not quitting! I'm glad that everyone finished the race - our training as a team was successful because of it.
